The First Session of the Joint Economic, Trade and Technical Commission between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held on January 31st, 2017 in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed on March 8th, 2016 in Baku. The meeting was hold in an atmosphere of the spirit of mutual cooperation and desire to develop the bilateral relations.
The session of the Commission was co-chaired by H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and H.E. Mr. Kamaladdin Heydarov, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
H.E. Minister of Emergency Situations welcomed the Qatari delegation in the Republic of Azerbaijan, emphasized the positive results of the visit of H.H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Azerbaijan on March 2016 and expressed his thanks to H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs for his support to his recent visit to Qatar on October 31st, 2016
In response, the Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked the Azerbaijani Side for the warm welcome, hospitality and excellent organization of the meeting, he welcomed the visit of H.E. the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the State of Qatar planned on February, 2017 and outlined the development of the bilateral relations during past years following the wills of the leaders of both countries.
The two sides reviewed the bilateral relations of cooperation existing in various fields and expressed their satisfaction with the level reached by the bilateral relations in all fields, they stressed the importance of maintaining what has been achieved and work to ensure the deepening of bilateral relations to serve the common interests between the two countries and the aspirations of the leadership and people of the two countries and promote the visits between trade delegations and raise the partnership between the business and the private sector and expressed confidence that the Commission will facilitate development of bilateral relations in various fields.
In conclusion, the two sides signed a protocol for the first session of the joint economic, trade and technical committee between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan
