Word from the Ambassador

It is a great pleasure to welcome visitors to this website, and we hope that we will make it a window to provide visitors with the important and required information in the knowledge of our beloved country Qatar and its distinguished relations with various countries of the world, especially the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The State of Qatar and the Republic of Azerbaijan enjoy strong relations based on the foundations of friendship, cooperation, mutual respect and common interests between the two countries and the two friendly peoples.

In turn, the Embassy seeks to achieve further cooperation between the two countries in various fields to achieve mutual benefit and common interests in accordance with the directives of the leaders of the two countries.

This website comes in the context of continuous support and documentation of these links and is a bridge of communication between the State of Qatar and other brotherly and friendly countries. It also aims to provide the best services to the Qatari nationals visiting Azerbaijan while there is also a large Azeri community in the State of Qatar which reflects the spirit of friendship between the two peoples.

Date of Appointment at the ministry: 18 July 1994.

Information: Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Azerbaijan since 18 October 2019 .

Academic Qualification

  • A bachelor of law, Beirut University, Arab Republic of Egypt, 18.10.2000

  • A diploma in law and diplomacy, Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, Massachusetts, 1997 – 1999

Work Experience

  • Worked in Protocol Management during the period from 18/7/1994 to 11/9/1999.

  • Worked in the management of international organizations, conferences and conventions during the period from 11/9/1999 to 25/7/2001.

  • Worked in the permanent delegation of the State of Qatar in New York during the period from 20/8/2001 to 25/12/2007.

  • Worked in the permanent delegation of the State of Qatar in Geneva during the period from 26/12/2007 to 9/8/2010.

  • Worked in the Office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs during the period from 1/11/2010 to 10/12/2012.

  • Consul for a year in Houston during the period from 13/2/2012 to 14/6/2013.

  • Consul General of the State of Qatar in Los Angeles during the period from 25/6/2012 to 21/2/2014.

  • Appointed Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar in Geneva during the period from 28/2/2014 to 30/12/2016.

  • Director of Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the period from 28/2/2016 to 15/10/2019.

  • He is currently the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Azerbaijan as of 18/10/2019.
