Qatar-Azerbaijan Relations


The diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Azerbaijan established on September 14, 1994 in order to strengthen and develop friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries. HE Ambassador Yusuf bin Hassan Al-Saai presented his credentials as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev on October 5, 2016.

Qatar is seeking to develop cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan in all political and economic fields, and is no doubt that the official visit of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani ("May God protect him")   – the emir of the beloved country -  to the Republic of Azerbaijan in 7th of March,  2016 launched a new era of bilateral relations between two countries which will lead to a strengthening the work on building a large network of mutual bilateral interests to serve the issues of development and the exchange of experiences and other mechanisms that flow into the national economy in order to achieve the strategic partnership through the promotion of the national capital to invest in the economy of Azerbaijan and provide necessary support and care to protect it in the light of the excellent relations between the leadership of the two countries.

During this visit were signed a number of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Qatar, including the formation of the joint economic, trade and technical committee for building the basis for economic and trade relations to a level corresponding to the distinguished diplomatic relations between them.
